Indeed it is our responsibility as individuals and commercially. In the UK, an estimated 350,000 tonnes of unwanted clothing goes to landfill.
This causes a multitude of problems from synthetic fibres not decomposing, to greenhouse gasses having a negative impact on global warming.
Too many of these items have plenty of life left in them and others would be delighted to make use of them.
The same goes for household items, shoes and toys amongst others.
The items that we collect need to be in resaleable condition to allow this and are distributed to help people with affordable solutions.
Any items that are not suitable for this are sent off to be recycled into new products whether these are books or wiping cloths etc.
As 70% of the world’s population wears second hand clothing, this is mutually beneficial to all parties.
You should be aware that all our customers are audited and approved by us in terms of their working practices and operating practices. We are very strict on this to ensure this complies with and runs in line with our ZERO % WASTE policy.
